Dr. Daniel Min - Prosthodontist
Dr. Daniel Min earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin before continuing on to the University of Texas, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). During dental school he distinguished himself early, receiving the American Esthetic Dental Association Award for excellence in esthetic dentistry and being named Student of the Year for clinical performance.
Following graduation, Dr. Min was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army. Over four years of active duty, he provided comprehensive dental care to service members in demanding clinical settings, experience that sharpened his judgment, hand skills, and calm, solutions-focused approach. He continues to serve in the Army Reserves.
After his military service, Dr. Min was admitted to the highly competitive graduate specialty program in dental implantology and prosthetics at Columbia University. He completed the rigorous three-year curriculum, earning a Master of Science (MS) in prosthodontics, and subsequently joined the Columbia faculty as a part-time clinical professor.
Committed to lifelong learning, Dr. Min maintains active membership in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the Academy of Prosthodontics. Ongoing involvement in these professional communities keeps him at the forefront of surgical implantology and advanced restorative and cosmetic techniques—expertise he brings to every treatment plan and procedure.
Dr. Allyson Won - Endodontist
Allyson Won, DDS, is a native New Yorker from Long Island who brings a warm, thoughtful approach to advanced endodontic care. She earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the SUNY Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine and completed a General Practice Residency at the Manhattan VA, where she gained broad experience caring for a diverse patient population. After several years practicing as a general dentist in the greater Manhattan area, she pursued specialty training in Endodontics at the NYU College of Dentistry. The strong connection she formed with the program continues today—she serves as adjunct clinical faculty in NYU’s Department of Endodontics, helping train the next generation of specialists.
In the operatory, Dr. Won focuses on precision, comfort, and clear communication. She understands that root canal therapy and retreatment can feel daunting, and she takes time to explain each step, answer questions, and collaborate closely with referring and restorative dentists to achieve durable, esthetic results. Her care philosophy is evidence-based and patient-centered: reduce anxiety, relieve pain, and protect natural teeth whenever possible.
Service is a throughline of Dr. Won’s career. She has provided dental care to underserved communities from Clinton County, New York to Nicaragua, experiences that continue to shape her commitment to access and empathy in everyday practice. Away from the clinic, she enjoys exploring new destinations, as well as spending time on the golf course and tennis court.
Dr. Shawn Gutman - Orthodontist
Jonathan Gutman, DDS, is a board-certified orthodontist whose path to dentistry began in engineering. He earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University, where he developed a deep appreciation for problem-solving, biomechanics, and precision. Seeking more direct impact on people’s lives, he pivoted to health care and enrolled at Columbia University College of Dental Medicine. After receiving his DDS, he remained at Columbia to complete an intensive three-year residency in orthodontics, mastering the diagnosis and treatment of bite discrepancies, crowding, spacing, and complex interdisciplinary cases.
Board certification reflects Dr. Gutman’s commitment to the highest standards of specialty care and lifelong learning. He currently serves as part-time clinical faculty at Columbia, teaching orthodontic residents and mentoring them in case planning, biomechanics, and patient communication. This academic role keeps him engaged with emerging research and advances while reinforcing a thoughtful, evidence-based approach in everyday practice.
Clinically, Dr. Gutman blends an engineer’s rigor with a clinician’s empathy. He is meticulous about treatment planning—from initial records and digital modeling to step-by-step progress checks—so that every decision is intentional and goal-oriented. Whether guiding growth in younger patients, coordinating care with general dentists and other specialists, or treating adults with clear aligners or braces, his focus is consistent: create healthy, stable bites and confident smiles with as little disruption to daily life as possible. Patients appreciate his calm manner, clear explanations, and respect for their time and preferences.
Outside the office, Dr. Gutman’s eye for detail extends to a very different kind of “ecosystem”: his home aquariums. He is an avid aquascaper and freshwater shrimp breeder, pursuits that reward patience, balance, and careful stewardship—qualities that also shape his philosophy of care. When he’s not refining a treatment plan, you’ll likely find him trimming plants, tuning water parameters, or simply enjoying the quiet beauty of a well-kept tank.
